Startupbootcamp Africa has announced the names of the top 22 startups selected to attend selections days for the organisation’s Cape Town accelerator.
This is the final step in the selection process before Startup bootcamp Accelerator Africa next month announces the final 10 startups that will take part in its second Startupbootcamp Cape Town accelerator.
Selecting finalists has been an intense process due to the exceptionally high calibre of startups applying to the programme from across the continent – Startupbootcamp Africa Co-Founder & CEO Philip Kiracofe
From 1004 applications, SBC managed to narrow down to 22 of the most creative teams tackling daunting African problems. One of the key differentiators for startups that participate in the SBC Accelerator is the opportunity to secure commercial contracts with our sponsors.
Of the top 22 startups that have been selected to join the final selection days, Uganda has 3 startups, 8 are from Nigeria, 5 are from South African while Ivory Coast and Kenya each have 2 startups while Ghana and Ireland are both represented by one startup.
The three startups from Uganda are:-
CoinPesa, a platform that makes it easy for anyone in Africa to access digital currency services,
Swipe2Pay, a mobile app that allows users to accept mobile payments anywhere and grow your business and
Roundbob, an online travel agency with a fully developed mobile app providing relevant travel options such as bookings, travel packages and destination marketing.
The final 10 will be announced on 12 July at PwC’s Cape Town offices and the acceleration programme kicks off in August.
